Filippo Dinacci is Full Professor of Criminal Procedural Law and a lawyer. He is a member of the Scientific Board and of the Board of Auditors of Italian and European journals, including Archivio penale, Cassazione penale and Anales de Derecho of Murcia University. He is the author of more than 120 publications on the main journals of the sector, primarily concerning the general principles of the criminal procedure, in light of the constitutional values and of supranational sources. In his books, he analyzed, inter alia, the guarantees of fair trial, the adversary principle and the topic of the usability of evidence. In some of his recent articles, he specifically examined the dialogue between the Court of Justice of the European Union and Italian courts, with reference to right to silence and data retention. In 2022, he was a teacher at the Superior School for Italian Magistrates on the topic of the right to silence of legal entities. Until 2017, he has also teached Criminal Procedural Law, either from an internal and from a comparative and European perspective, at the Scuola Superiore di Polizia Tributaria. In 2006, he was appointed as a member of the “Riccio” ministerial Committee for the reform of criminal justice. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Professors of Criminal Procedural Law “G. Pisapia” and the director of the Study Centre of the Camera penale of Rome.
